9 Era 1950s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, present-day Genre Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Sci-Fi Thriller, Psychological Thriller, Mystery & Suspense Logline In a world where mysterious inter-dimensional beings possess humans, two strangers with troubled backgrounds and parental ties to cutting-edge science meet in Berlin and begin to uncover the truth about everything. Strengths This script offers effective world-building throughout, plenty of mystery and intrigue, and two promising main characters in Christina and Jory. Set in a world with inter-dimensional beings who possess humans, the pilot does a good job building out its backdrops with creativity and detail. This episode impressively explores multiple decades and countries in fleshing out its universe, and that foundation should be useful for the future of the series. In addition, the inventiveness on display—the use of colors, the ominous symbols, the eerie whispers—really helps the show stand out and feel unique, which is vital for attracting an audience. Another strength here is the tone and atmosphere, which deftly combines elements of sci-fi, mystery, thriller, and drama into a compelling whole. Raising interesting questions and dropping mysterious hints are smart ways to engage the audience, and the idea of a larger picture slowly coming into view is a strong organizing principle for the long-term narrative. There's clearly so much material for Christina and Jory to uncover moving forward, and their approaches and reactions to what they find should nicely flesh out their characters, which are already off to a good start with real potential. Prospects In terms of establishing a foundation for the series as a whole, the pilot's biggest strengths include its world-building, its sense of mystery, and its promising main characters. There's a lot going on here, and while that does lead to some issues, it also ultimately bodes well for the longevity and sustainability of the series. There's clearly an expansive, complicated world to explore, and the central mystery of unraveling the truth behind the Possessors, CERN, and the creepy figures following Christina is a strong narrative spine on which to hang the series. PITCHEat The Rich is an intense and thought-provoking narrative that explores the deep scars of trauma, the quest for truth, and the terrifying intersections between the human world and an extradimensional nightmare. This project is both a screenplay and a novel, offering a multifaceted experience of a gripping psychological thriller and chilling cosmic horror.
The story follows Christina, a woman marked by a life of trauma and fear. Abducted as a newborn in New York City, she was shuffled between false parents and government-run institutions, all while haunted by terrifying apparitions. Labeled as insane, Christina spent years medicated and locked away in an asylum to suppress her visions. But when she escapes, her quest for answers only leads her deeper into a world she doesn’t understand. Meanwhile, across the globe in Los Angeles, Jory leads a simple life—until one fateful day when he finds himself standing over a murdered friend, a bloody knife in his hand, with no memory of what happened. Frightened and confused, he runs, spiraling into a labyrinth of conspiracy theories and dark truths about his past. Now an adult, Christina lives in East Berlin, struggling to make ends meet as an artist, but the terrifying visions return with a vengeance when she runs out of her medication. She confides in Jory, who has his own tangled history, and the two of them uncover a terrifying reality: the apparitions are real. What begins as a personal journey for answers turns into a desperate fight for survival as they realize that the entities tormenting Christina are part of a much larger, much darker plot—extradimensional beings bent on taking over the world. As Christina and Jory dig deeper into the conspiracy, they must confront their own pasts. Jory is forced to face the terrifying truth of what happened the day he killed his friend, while Christina grapples with the impossible choice: protect humanity or surrender to the creatures who may be the key to her visions. Eat The Rich is a story about power, survival, and the cosmic forces that lurk on the fringe of reality. It’s a narrative that resonates with contemporary themes of alienation, identity, and the fight for agency in a world controlled by unseen forces. The novel and screenplay are designed to keep readers and viewers on the edge of their seats, challenging perceptions of reality while exploring the price of knowledge and the darkness of the world beyond. This story is more than just a thriller—it’s a reflection of our fears and the lengths we will go to for the truth, even when it threatens to consume us. With Eat The Rich, we invite the audience into a dark, twisted world where the line between the living and the dead is thin, and the consequences of discovering the truth could tear reality itself apart.
